Saanen: Quality of life and real estate market

Saanen is made up of 7 localities: Gstaad (3780), Saanen (3792), Grund b. Gstaad (3783), Schönried (3778), Saanenmöser (3777), Abländschen (1657) and Turbach (3781).

In 2020, the average taxable income per taxpayer in Saanen was CHF 121'293, i.e. 53.5% more than the national average of CHF 79'015. Saanen thus ranks 78th out of all the 2'203 municipalities of the country.

There were 12 new residential buildings built in Saanen in 2022. This represents 30 dwellings, or 4.3 new dwellings per 1,000 inhabitants for the town — the canton thus ranks 211th out of 2'203 in terms of new housing units per capita.
