Minergie is a Swiss construction label created in 1998 that certifies certain new or renovated buildings. It assures owners and tenants that the building respects a certain level of quality and comfort.

 

How is the Minergie label delivered and what are the control points?

The Minergie certification is issued after an examination that ensures that :

  • The energy consumption of the building is as low as possible;
  • The quality of the building's insulation is high;
  • The inhabitants have a high level of comfort due to the high quality of the ventilation and insulation;
  • Renewable energies are widely used in the supply of the building.

What are the different Minergie labels?

There are three different Minergie labels:

  • Minergie: it requires an above-average level of requirement in terms of energy, comfort and quality.
  • Minergie-P: intended for buildings with very low energy consumption, it meets the highest requirements in terms of energy, comfort and quality.
  • Minergie-A: ensures that the building is completely energy independent thanks to the possibility of self-production of energy via a substantial photovoltaic installation.

 

What are the Minergie renovation models?

Minergie offers five different renovation models to simplify the process of obtaining the Minergie certificate for existing buildings.

  • Model 1 is for uninsulated buildings that have never been renovated or have only been superficially renovated.
  • Models 2, 3 and 4 are intended for buildings that have already undergone renovations or that have been recently built.
  • Model 5 is developed for buildings with one or more common walls.

Each model offers a different renovation solution with adapted requirements.

 

How much does it cost to obtain the Minergie label?

The price of the Minergie certification varies according to the energy reference area and the building category.
